1. Retail Crypto Traders Surged During Pandemic Lockdown
Data provided by U.K.-based finance app Revolut shows the coronavirus lockdown has impacted the crypto trading habits of its users. Almost a third of Revolut’s 10 million customers have traded cryptocurrency on the app, which caters to casual, retail crypto traders. There was a 68% increase in the number of app users trading crypto assets. Bitcoin (BTC) was the most-popular crypto asset during March and April comprising 51% of all trades on Revolut. 2. Grayscale Bought 1.5 Times The Amount of BTC Mined Since Halving
Crypto fund manager Grayscale Investments is accumulating Bitcoin at a rate equivalent to 150% of the new coins created by miners since the May 11 block reward halving. According to crypto researcher Kevin Rooke, Grayscale has added 18,910 BTC to its Bitcoin Investment Trust since the halving, while only 12,337 Bitcoins have been mined since May 11. Rooke estimated, Grayscale had been buying Bitcoin at a rate equal to between 33% and 34% of new supply during the first quarter of 2020. Read Full on twitter

3. Charles Hoskinson Reveals Launch Date For Shelley
IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson announced the launch date of Shelley, the latest update for Cardano. It will start rolling out the network between June 30 and July 7. "If everything works without a hitch, June 30 we're shipping Shelley," he added, saying that, if something goes wrong, it might get delayed to July 7. The Shelley Incentivised Testnet lets holders earn real ADA, Cardano’s native currency, by staking it. 4. Telegram CEO Donates 10 BTC To Fight Covid-19 Pandemic
Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of popular messaging app Telegram, has purportedly resumed his charity activity soon after terminating Telegram’s blockchain project. Known for philanthropic activity. Durov has donated 10 bitcoins (BTC) to a charity project in Russia. The coins are worth around $96,000 at time of publication. 5. Coinbase Rolls Out Tezos Staking For EU Customers
Crypto exchange Coinbase has launched Tezos (XTZ) staking rewards for its UK and select EU customers. The launch will initially be limited to customers in the UK, France, Spain and the Netherlands. Users who stake their coins for the initial 35-40 day holding period will become eligible to receive staking rewards. Tezos is a proof-of-stake blockchain where users stake their coins to secure the network, and in return receive rewards relative to the amount staked. Read Full on coindesk

6. Indian Tech Giant Infosys Joins Matic Network As Validator
​​Indian tech giant Infosys has joined Matic Network as an early validator. The $40b market cap multinational IT corporation will be running a validator node on the Matic mainnet, thereby helping to ensure a secure and robust platform for the growing ecosystem of DApps. 7. VeChain to Develop Drug-Tracing Platform for Pharma Giant Bayer
One of the largest pharmaceutical companies Bayer China revealed that it had chosen VeChain as tech provider for a new blockchain- that will allow the firm – to track clinical drugs across the supply chain. Known as “CSecure,” the system loads a batch number relating to a specific drug onto the blockchain. Each drug can then be tracked as it moves across the supply chain, using timestamps and user-identification different waypoints. 8. Canadian University Started Two Blockchain Programs to Meet Job Demands
Canada-based York University will start two new university-level continuing blockchain programs - the part-time Certificate in Blockchain Development and the full-time Post-Graduate Certificate in Back-End and Blockchain Development in September 2020 aim to meet the rising demand for blockchain developer roles, especially in the Greater Toronto Area, where it has risen by 374% in the last two years. 9. China To Allow Citizens to Inherit Cryptocurrency
On the subject of inheritance law, Chinese lawmakers have broadened the scope that would see the inclusion of cryptocurrency.The Chinese Parliament has reportedly adopted the country’s first Civil Code, which among other things, enables citizens to inherit bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The new civil code states that when a natural person dies, his/her legacy is the property left behind.
